I was having difficulty conceiving my first child. Dr. Schwerte listened to me and evaluated my life style and all other symptoms before offering his treatment. And couple of months after starting with his acupuncture treatment combined with herbal supplements, I was able to get pregnant. Of course things did not end there. He has a solution for everything including my “all day “nausea in the first trimester. His treatments made a huge difference. My nausea went down significantly after a few acupuncture sessions. I could finally function at home and at work. And the last 6 weeks of my pregnancy I was lucky to have Dr. Schwerte’s expertise with labor preparation. My labor pain was much lighter than I expected – to the extent that I did not realize I am in real labor! It went very fast too and I was able to deliver my son without any medication, just like I wanted to. I feel lucky to have found Dr. Schwerte. With his deep knowledge of Western and Eastern/Chinese medicine and his love for helping people he offers a complete, high quality care.

I started going to Dr. Schwerte while I was also going through some fertility procedures. During this stressful time, almost immediately, Dr. Schwerte’s calming personality, knowledge and extremely positive attitude were helpful. The treatments were relaxing and effective – my IVF round was successful! On the day of implantation, I was told that my uterine wall looked “great”, and I attribute this to the acupuncture as it had not always been the case. Dr. Schwerte worked with me and the “Western Medicine” approach that I was taking rather than speak negatively about it as some had done before. I would highly recommend Dr. Schwerte, especially if you are going through fertility treatments – his skill, attitude and knowledge were just what I needed.

I had previously been to other acupuncturists trying to find one that understood infertility and could coach me through this process. Since I had met with so many other acupuncturists, I felt I had a good understanding of what makes a good one. Dr. Schwerte is extremely knowledgeable and an expert in his field, well above his peers. He spent 2 hours with me initially to do a full work up of my health. He is an amazing listener and helps you put a plan together to achieve your goals. I had been chronically tired for quite sometime and he ran a few tests to determine that I had a mild case of adrenal fatigue. He put me on an herbal regiment and my energy returned. I have never felt better.

Even better news, I am finally pregnant after 2 years of trying. I would recommend him to any patient suffering from infertility.

My partner and I were trying IUI(s) to conceive a baby and everyone we knew was recommending acupuncture to support the fertility process. We found Dr. Schwerte through a personal referral and I found him to be knowledgeable, kind and supportive. His treatments were gentle, his questions about my health detailed and I never felt rushed in his office. After only 3 IUIs and three months with acupuncture I was pregnant! I still find it hard to believe. I continued to see Dr. Schwerte and he monitored my pregnancy and in August 2007 we had a beautiful, healthy baby boy.

Both my partner and I can’t say enough about Dr. Schwerte and his compassion and caring nature. Needless to say, we are also complete believers now in acupuncture! It changed our lives completely and we can’t put into words how grateful we are.

I guess I’m something of a convert now. I’m very skeptical when it comes to anything outside of “hard science,” and that normally applies to the medical world. But after seven years of recurring gastrointestinal issues, with my GI specialist applying only steroids to temporarily relieve the problem (and not offering any actual advice for ending them permanently), I was forced to try Dr. Schwerte’s dual-medical approach (Western/Chinese) when a major flareup seriously threatened my health. Turns out I’m gluten intolerant (not the doctor’s diagnosis, but a lab result). That would have been nice to know years ago!

Dr. Schwerte put me on a regimen of acupuncture, herbal treatments and a mild diet. Over the course of about a month and a half I went from being pale and nutrient-starved to feeling completely normal, and on my way to lifelong prevention of further GI incidents. While I’m disappointed to have lost beer and bread from my diet, I’m glad to finally have some answers and know how to stay healthy from here on out.

I have suffered from hip pain for years after a car accident. Prior to Dr. Schwerte, I went to a chiropractor and a physical therapist for several years. They helped to a certain extent but I was still experiencing pain especially when I exercised. I have been lucky to work with a physical therapist that thinks out of the box and referred me to acupuncture based trigger point therapy with Dr. Schwerte. Dr. Schwerte’s expertise in trigger point therapy is simply amazing. And he is a great doctor in general. He listens to you, understands all your symptoms and adjusts the treatment very effectively to see results right away. With his help I was able to exercise again without pain. There are no words to describe my gratitude to his skills, knowledge and kind, caring heart that he offers to his patients. With Dr. Schwerte, I know I am in good hands.

I give thanks everyday that I found Dr. Schwerte and his practice. I’ve always been a relatively healthy person with minimal doctor/hospital visits and don’t really consider myself much of a hypochondriac. In the past year I started frequently waking up in the middle of the night and developing insomnia. These symptoms further developed into full-blown panic attacks and even depression. All of these ailments were completely new to me and the sheer confusion of what was happening to me was enough to push me further into instability.Unaware of my options, I started regularly visiting my GP (western family doctor) and he spent about five minutes with me before telling me is “just anxiety” and that I need to “calm down”. After a few more visits my doctor suggested “seeing a therapist” and he could “give me some pills to make me feel better.” During this time none of these visits made me feel any better or sure of what was wrong with me. In fact, my family doctor’s impatient and condescending manner left me feeling like I was losing my mind and making up these symptoms in my head. After a few months of worsening anxiety attacks and depression I gave in to my GP and took some SSRI antidepressants for fear that I had nowhere else to turn. The neglect of modern medicine and the awful spaced out feelings the pills were making me feel led to me to do some research on holistic medicine, acupuncture, and the benefits of an different approach to chronic disorders. After looking through medical sites, word of mouth, and yelp I found some glowing reviews for Dr. Andreas Schwerte and scheduled an appointment. It was the best thing I ever did.

The first visit to Dr. Schwerte alone is enough to improve anyone’s health and outlook toward what they are going through. The first appointment with Dr. Schwerte took around two hours and included a thorough written questionnaire and tests/assessments and a lot of personal one on one time with the doctor. Dr. Schwerte will sit down and talk with you about all of your symptoms, your diet, your sense of well being, and anything else you’d like to share. He also listens with an open ear and will take anything you say into consideration, he makes you feel comfortable and positive about feeling healthy. After some tests and discussion Andreas suggested that I am suffering from Adrenal Fatigue (a common disorder caused by too much stress, I had been working two full time jobs, going to grad school, and was in a band!! Too much!) and began a program of supplements and acupuncture that got me off of the Antidepressants. These supplements work more effectively than prescription drugs and have almost zero side effects. Once I was off of the meds, I began a program of supplementation to repair my damaged adrenal glands.

There aren’t enough good things to say about Dr. Andreas Schwerte, he is a dedicated healer that makes his patients a number one priority. His bedside manner is caring and comforting. Dr. Schwerte also mixes all aspects of medicine, nutrition, and lifestyle change; he can look at your blood work and talk about your thyroid levels, or he can administer acupuncture and encourage you to “lie down and just relax.” Everything about this practice is positive, intelligent, and healing; his office manager Wendy rocks too! Not to mention, I moved to Pennsylvania during my treatment and Dr. Schwerte CONTINUED TO WORK WITH ME THROUGH EMAIL ON HIS OWN FREE TIME!!!

If you’ve been suffering form symptoms that ordinary doctors scoff at or simply throw pills at or if you’re looking to explore holistic medicine for all of its glory and healing then start with Dr. Andreas Schwerte. Some insurance is accepted at his office, but not all. If not the appointments will run 100 for the first and 70 after which is well worth every penny and more. For all of his help for getting me off of antidepressants, fixing my anxiety and depression and leaving me feeling like my old self is invaluable and I thank Dr. Schwerte for that.

“Whoa. Marcel, you kind of look bad – again. Still not sleeping?”So went the conversation for months, with one of my closest friends. I’ve always been a poor sleeper. Taking hours to fall asleep, only to wake up in 20 minute intervals, when I finally did.

Finally I relented and gave Dr. Schwerte a call. It’s the best thing I ever did. Andreas diagnosed my issues and began treatment right away. Sleeping issues – fixed. I can’t believe I lived with it for 5 years!!!

I have been dealing with chronic pain for over two years in my neck and arms. The sensations were crippling.
